Our sheng puers are coming from the large leaves (大叶, daye) of Yunnan's old tea trees. These leaves are the embodiment of peaceful naturalness. One of the most interesting and important feature of puer teas is that they can be matured. If stored well, puer teas undergo a long ageing process, during which they completely transform.
Our eldest puer tea is from 1977 and has been being matured ever since. The tea's primal taste profile has long ago turned into a taste resembling to the fragrance of fallen leaves with a deeper and more relaxed character. Its rustic fragrance is dominated by notes of camphor, leaves and fresh soil.
It is highly significant how this aged tea differs from the average young sheng puer. It effects the body in a completely different way. Its chaqi (茶气, tea energy) develops in a slow and refined manner but once one really feels it, it floats through the whole body and sets the mind at rest.
