Himalayan Evergreen is an elegant green tea with lightly toasted, buttery notes. Round, energising, uplifting yet relaxing. Flowery and fragrant tea. The lower temperature brings out the floral notes. In our experience, this particular green tea matures very well, hence the name Evergreen.
Also worth trying in cold brew. 12-15g in 1 litre of cold water, 12-15 hours overnight in the fridge.
All the Nepalese teas we offer come from the Jun Chiyabari organic tea garden, located in the Himalayas at an altitude of around 1800 metres. Because of this high altitude, there is a deep exhilaration in each tea.
The steamed scent is of deep green and freshly baked bread rolls.
The first 15 second infusion is reminiscent of sunflower sprouts and a delicate spring vegetable soup from grandma's kitchen. Another 20-20 seconds of infusion brings resinous pine notes, green asparagus, citrusy finesse. Salty Moroccan lemon, a hint of rhubarb and sorrel freshen the palate. Great, uplifting fullness. Exudes a relaxed serenity, an elegant tea.
Quantity: 5-6 grams per 150ml
Water temperature: 80ºC. From fresh spring, mineral water, or filtered water
Brewing time: 15-20… seconds
Infusions: 5-6
