Matcha Ocean is ideal for lattes and matcha cocktails.
Matcha (抹茶) is a traditional staple of the Japanese tea ceremony. Matcha Ocean has been optimised for mixing in drinks. The cultivars selected retain a distinctive flavour, making it the perfect choice for lattes. The stone grinding of the shaded, hand-picked leaves results in a delicate powder ready to use.
This Matcha has the sweet, tart notes of pecans and the grassy, greenish aroma of freshly mown grass. As a latte, it delivers a smooth experience, where the greenness melts into a subtle watermelon rind sweetness, creating harmony in the blend of tea and milk.
Quantity: 2 grams per 80ml
Water temperature: 80ºC from fresh spring, mineral water or filtered water.

Recipe for Matcha Latte:
- 2 grams Zhao Zhou Matcha Ocean 340
- 40 ml 80 degrees water or filtered water
- 100 ml milk of your choice
Heat the chawan (tea bowl) with hot water, pat dry, and sift in the matcha powder. Sifting helps to prepare the drink to mix better and provides a silky texture. Using a chasen (tea whisk), mix the matcha powder with the hot water. First in a slow figure-eight motion, then in a quick stirring motion for about a minute. The fine foam that forms should contain only small bubbles - that's how you know it's been well mixed. Pour the resulting thick drink over the cold or warm milk of your choice.
We recommend our ceremonial grade matchas for those seeking a classic, traditional matcha experience.
