We've just got the third vintage of this slightly smoky green tea. Hubei Mountain Green is a refreshing green tea from the heart of China.
The tea is coming from an area, which has been deserted for decades. The bushes are living amongst the hills, far away from the cities. As a result, they have not seen any pesticides for the past few decades and so they are growing entirely naturally. What is more, it was specially plucked for us by villagers living nearby.
The tea is rich, invigoratingly green, and a little rustic due to the traditional craftsmanship. After several experiments, we recommend brewing at a lower temperature.
Steamed gaiwan: smokey ham, the sweetness of steamed corn
Tastes, feelings: We feel some pine resin with a kind astringency, then it turns to sweetness. Amongst the smoky green notes, we find steamed edamame bean, vegetable soup, steamed rice. Under the effect of this tea, we feel confident, focus, and calm at the same time.
Quantity: 5-6 grams per 150ml.
Water temperature: 75-80ºC. From fresh spring water or filtered water.
Brewing time: 15-20…seconds
Infusions: 4-5
