To understand why this Premium Flower Fragrance Gong Mei is more exciting, deeper, and more elegant than other teas produced in this category, we must dig a little deeper. The tea bushes used are over 70 years old, having been planted around 1950. Aged white teas are typically pressed into discs and aged in that form, whereas this tea has been aged as loose leaves. Without this process, we believe that the more delicate leaves are better preserved, allowing their natural elegance to be better preserved.
This tea was stored and aged for nine years. There is a saying in China that aged white tea becomes medicine after three years and a treasure after seven. Among its physiological effects, its beneficial influence on the circulatory system and its ability to help regulate blood sugar and blood pressure are often mentioned. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is also said to reduce upward-rising fire and have a calming effect.
The tea unfolds slowly, then reveals a clear presence that sharpens the mind and creates a calm, focused state. It's as if, for a brief moment, we understand the world better. It's an extremely exciting state, and yet it was slow to reveal itself at first.
The name "Huaxiang" means flower fragrance.
This tea has a sweet honey and woody scent. We brewed it at 90 degrees for 50 seconds for the third infusion, when it started to open up. The mouthfeel is cool and minty, with notes of raisin, vanilla, and sour cherries. The 4th infusion was at 95 degrees for 1 minute, which revealed coconut and honey notes. With the 5th brew at 95 degrees, we taste candied walnut notes and feel it expanding the horizons around us.
This tea brings with it a sense of space, relaxation, and calm.
Quantity: 6- 7 grams per 150ml.
