Supreme ceremonial grade matcha
Full body experience
Sweatpeas, acacia petals, and roasted salty green peas
Excellent for Koicha
Uji, Japan

Supreme ceremonial grade match perfect for koicha matcha preparations.

This tea comes from one of Uji, Japan's ancient tea gardens. This garden is part of a temple that has been tended by the same family for over 16 generations. This degree of proficiency echoes in their teas, giving them refined and extremely balanced flavors supplemented with beautiful elegance.

Matcha (抹茶), the powdered green tea, is the zenith of the Japanese tea ceremony. Similar to Gyokuro, the tea plants are shaded for three weeks before being harvested so that the leaves stay small, fresh, and juicy, making their taste sweeter and softer. Like any other Japanese green tea, after plucking, the leaves are steamed and dried. Then, having carefully selected the leaves, they are milled into a soft, bright green powder. This powder tea is prepared with a bamboo chasen (茶筅, tea whisk) in a chawan (茶碗, tea bowl). The result is an emerald-coloured liquid with rather intense greenish flavour and a sweet, light, jade-like foam.

Tamashii is an invigorating full-body experience. This match has an elegant, smooth taste of cucumber, sweet peas, and fresh grassy notes. The aftertaste is long and lingering with roasted salted pea and acacia petal notes. This matcha is both ethereal and invigorating in the body, leaving one in a truly heightened state.

Tamashii is immaculate in Koicha matcha preparations.
