Description

Classic black tea from Nepal, besides the traditional tastes we can find cocoa, caramel, and some dried fruits also. The Himalayan Imperial Black is our old favorite since 2014 when we first put it in our assortment. They use shorter fermentation during the processing, which indicates the complexity of the tastes; chocolate, caramel, cocoa, and various dried fruits. This specific tea was hand-picked in the spring of 2020 on the Nepali side of the Himalayas. It has got less smoke and more fruit than the previous vintage. This is a joyful tea for the mornings, it can give you much energy for the day. Bachan Gyawali – the owner of the Jun Chiyabari tea garden – told us once that they use this type of tea to make cold brews. This is an excellent choice, worth trying on warm summer days.

Every Nepali tea we have originates from the organic Jun Chiyabari tea garden, located in the Himalayas around 1800 meters above sea level. Due to this clear-out area in every tea there lies a deep elation.

Tasting notes:
There are some caramel, cocoa and dried fruits smell in the steamed gaiwan. The deeper tastes dominate the first pourings, like chocolate, cocoa, with caramel, and the fruits appear in the aftertastes. From the third pouring, the dried fruits become stronger, sour cherry, cranberry. The effect of this tea is really dynamic.
