We believe that your Chabu in use will carry the memory of past tea ceremonies, its imperfections and additional color changes will make them even more valuable. The ZHAO ZHOU x TOTEMISM collaboration Chabu tea textiles are limited editions. FABRIC/COLORS: Each Chabu can be used both sides. The lighter tone side is a wild/raw bourette silk from India in a golden yellow color. The darker tone side is a sturdy, roughly textured stone grey twill denim. The inspiration behind the color choices is the duality: yellow = light / grey = shadow The choice of the color golden yellow also has a deeply symbolic meaning: wisdom, understanding, optimism and enlightenment. Grey carry the characteristic traits of simplicity and calmness. Both colors can match almost all types of tea sets. The goal with the fabric choices to create an earthy, a grounding feeling with the elements of luxury (silk) and rawness (denim).
