Description

A high-mountain (1800 metres) green oolong from one of Taiwan’s best known tea growing areas. The cooler air of the mountain is not only beneficial for tea plantations but also for pear growing, hence its name Li Shan (梨山), that is Pear Mountain.

Thick, green, intense—well-defined tea with a slightly darker tone than in the previous years. It has a creamy, olive oil-like texture and the taste of fresh pea and sweetcorn. Besides, due to the higher water-content of the leaves, a more extended drying process was needed, which resulted in a smoky twist in the tea.

This Spring, Taiwan witnessed unusually heavy rains, due to which the tea leaves remained softer and the harvest had to be started earlier to forestall the quick growth of the buds. Hence, this vintage is greener, more tender and need slightly longer infusions.
