Description

Yue Guang Bai (月光白, moonlight white) is a special white tea from the Menghai area in Yunnan Province.
It has the pure flavour and smooth, sweet creaminess of a late harvest tea and fills the mouth with the richness of freshly picked apple.

The appearance is the first thing one must notice – each leaf has a shining ‘white’ side while the other side is deep purple or red. This duality has its cause in the process it is made with. After plucking and withering the leaves, they are dried under the light of the Full Moon.

The 360 years old tea-garden was severly damaged in 1955: the branches were cut back in order to make plucking easier. For a few years now the garden has a new owner who is trying to restore the farm into its natural state.
